Welcome to Great Women of Faith! Here ask people who their favorite Biblical women characters are. Learning how others see things, helps us learn new ways to see something. Plus, it is fun seeing all of our points of view!
Favorite Character : Elizabeth
Praise the LORD. The woman character that I admire in the Bible is Elizabeth the mother of John the Baptist. This is because she was old without a son but when the angel told her husband that she would bear a son, she believed. She believed in the power in the word of the LORD. She later conceived and gave birth to John the Baptist.
What we learn:
We need to always trust the word of GOD. We need to follow her example by listening to The Holy Spirit.
Favorite Character : Abigail
I love Abigail as a woman character in the Bible. I love how she defends her husband before king David's authority. She was bold, wise and concerned about her husband even if he was a fool.
What we learn:
We need to be wise like Abigail. We face circumstances that call for wisdom. We need to ask God to fill us with wisdom.

Favorite Character : Mary, mother of Jesus
My favorite woman character in the Bible has to be Mary, mother of Jesus. When the angel Gabriel came to her and told her that she would have a son even though she was a virgin, Mary didn't doubt him or how it would happen. Mary simply trusted God and that He would do what was best. Even when they had to go for the census or sleep in a barn, she kept on trusting God and had faith in His works. And now we consider her the most blessed of all women. Her son grew up and served God entirely. All that for a simple women's faith.
What we learn:
We need to trust God and have faith in Him, even when it gets hard. God knows what is best for us and can make great things out of the worst situations.

Favorite Character: Sarah
I love Sarah. Abraham's wife, Sarah was patient even after being promised a son. It took long for her to get Isaac. She never lost hope even when she continued getting older and older. Finally she gave birth to Isaac.
What we learn:
We need to be patient with God's promises. He fulfills at the right time.

Favorite Character: Ruth
The woman character in the Bible that stands out to me is Ruth. I like the way she makes a deliberate decision to show compassion to her mother in law. I think she felt pity for her due to the fact that Naomi had lost both her husband and children. She therefore dedicates her life to taking care of Naomi even after Naomi pleading with her to leave Ruth was firm on her decision, was not moved by circumstances surrounding her own life. This made her to be one of the ancestors of king David and later of Jesus Christ.
What we learn:
This teaches believers of today to be firm in their love for Jesus. We should not be moved by the patterns of world. We should realize that we are for God. I love Ruth.

Author - Lydiah
Favorite Character: Lydia
I am Lydiah and the woman character I admire is Lydia. I am always touched by her welcoming spirit. In my community today it's really difficult to have someone to invite someone from prison. Paul and Silas were painted bad people by the authority of that time. It would be expected that no one wanted to be associated with them, because of risking being arrested. But she knew their agenda and decided to show them her passion for Christ. She knew they were brothers with similar goal as her.
What do we learn:
We need to show kindness to our neighbors and people who are in trouble. In her house she was hosting other believers. I really admire this lady's heart.

Favorite character: Esther
I like Esther in the Bible. She chose not to make the jews be killed. My mother sings a lot about Esther.
What do we learn:
We should be like Esther.

Favorite character: Mary the mother of JESUS
I love Mary as a woman character in the Bible. This is because she was the most outstanding woman at that time and I think even today. She was faithful to Joseph her husband to be. She sought clarity on the nature of the pregnancy.
What do we learn:
The young generation should copy from her and live a life pleasing God. We should be holy.
