Bible and Science Welcoming
Welcome to Bible and Science! Here we talk about Biblical truths and how science can, well, prove it. We will also talk how different branches of science, like archeology, corresponds to the Bible and its truths, science experiments you can do to help explain Biblical Principals, and much more! A lot of people think that the Bible and science don't go together but they totally do! It just depends on the worldview (we will learn about worldviews soon).
The Orange Experiment
Today, we are going to do an experiment. Yay! This is a fun experiment to do and it shows the importance of the Armor of God.
Materials
2 oranges
A large bowl (preferably transparent)
Enough water to fill the bowl
Directions
Peel one orange and leave the other unpeeled.
Pour the water into the bowl
Place both oranges into the bowl
See what happens
Wow! The orange without the peel sinks while the orange with the peel floats. This happens because the pores in the peel gather air bubbles and create air pockets helping with the oranges buoyancy (ability to float). But when you take away the peel, the air pockets go POOF! Now, how does this relate to the Armor of God? The peel represents the Armor of God, the orange represents us, and the water represents sin. When we don't have the Armor of God, we go sinking into sin. But when we do have it, we will float above it. Tada! But how do we put on the armor? Through faith and trust in God. This experiment is simple, sweet, and shows an important lesson about the Armor of God!
The Flood
The Great Flood in the Bible is an amazing story about God's holiness, mercy, and love. We talked about it a while a go in the story of Noah.
