Warren Wiersbie mentioned that Isaiah 53 is heart of book of Isaiah. No one explained Gospel in old testament like Isaiah.
Personally when I read second part of verse 3 ("we esteemed him not." ) it showed my real heart. When I read the verse in tamil translation it mentioned as " we didn't think of HIM". khaw-shav' is the original word and it was used in different ways in Bible. Based on blue letter Bible - count (23x), devise (22x), think (18x), imagine (9x), cunning (8x), reckon (7x), purpose (6x), esteem (6x), account (5x), impute (4x), forecast (2x), regard (2x), workman (2x), conceived (1x), miscellaneous (9x)
Psalm 40:17 shows really contrast between GOD's nature and selfish human nature ."But I am poor and needy; yet the Lord thinketh H2803 upon me: thou art my help and my deliverer; make no tarrying, O my God." It's the same word "khaw-shav".
So many days I went without properly thinking about my FATHER or spending time with my FATHER. But my Father always thinking of me.
Even when I come to GOD , I was looking for HIS hand and not his face (As mentioned by Erwin Lutzer). There is nothing wrong with coming to our FATHER for our needs. But we grieve GOD,when we come to our FATHER only for our needs. We act as a spoiled brat looking for money from his rich dad.
Lot of times I complained to GOD about GOD not answering my prayers without really spending time with HIM. As a great Father ,HE wants to spend time with HIS child. In 12 verses Isaiah shown GOD's love and sacrifice for us.
HE came to save poor and needy like me. I was in HIS thoughts when HE was in the cross. Yet cares of the world and things of the world make us not to think of HIM.
Think of HIS love and HIS sacrifices.
